Taking it slow. Lindsey Vonn opened up about life after her split from Tiger Woods, saying that shes going to remain single and focus on herself.
Im single, and I probably will be for a while, Vonn, 31, told Health magazine in an interview published on Tuesday, Nov. 10. I think this is just a good time for me to focus on myself. Im not ready to have a family yet, but I will be at some point. I definitely want a family. I love kids. But right now Im going to focus on me.
The professional skier revealed that her split from the golf star, 39, drove her to find her true happiness and get in the best shape possible.
I think its just given me more time to spend on myself, the Olympian explained. Thats what happens with most breakups; you really look at yourself and figure out what makes you happy, and you also have a lot more free time. Im focusing on skiing and Ive been working really hard. Its paying off. I got a new nutritionist, and Im just doing everything I can to be in shape for this season. The most important thing is to eat healthy. So eat whatever your body wants, and try to be as active as you can.
Part of getting in shape also meant accepting her body and learning to love herself, Vonn noted.
I definitely dont fit in on the red carpet, she admitted. Im like twice the size of anyone, in both height and weight! Im five-foot-ten, but Im definitely quite a bit heavier than everyone else. I feel like the odd man out sometimes, but thats even more reason to be confident, to show girls that you dont have to be a size 2 to be beautiful. Any size is beautiful as long as youre confident in yourself.
Woods and Vonn who dated for three years announced their split back in May. It was Woods first notable public relationship since splitting from ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2010, following his notorious cheating scandal.
