Its been an eventful year for Hilary Duff, but the former Lizzie McGuire star isnt letting anything get her down.
The 28-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 26, to express her gratitude for her son Luca, 3.
#thankful everyday, she captioned the artistic photo, in which Luca looks like hes reaching out toward Duff in a meadow just as the sun is about to set on the horizon.

Duff and Lucas father, hockey player Mike Comrie, split in January after four years of marriage, and the actress has spoken out about the healing process since.
I dont want to sound bitter because Im definitely not, she told the April issue of Cosmopolitan. But I dont know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you cant always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness.

Duff and Comrie, 34, have remained amicable for the sake of Luca, even reuniting for their sons third birthday party.
