Fox News contributor Katherine Timpf is refusing to back down after a Star Wars jab she made last month on Red Eye w/ Tom Shillue sparked a series of online death and rape threats.
Timpf penned an essay for the National Review on Tuesday, Nov. 24, saying, "A lot of people are clearly a lot of upset. But guess what? Im not apologizing. Why? Because the all-too-common knee-jerk reaction of apologizing for harmless jokes after overblown hysteria is ruining our culture. This political-correctness obsession threatens free speech, and I absolutely refuse to be a part of it."

The drama started in late October, when Timpf slammed Star Wars fans on Red Eye, saying, "I have never had any interest in watching space nerds poke each other with their little space nerd sticks, and Im not going to start now. You people are crazy. You Star Wars people are crazy. Yesterday I tweeted something, and all I said was that I wasnt familiar with Star Wars because Ive been too busy liking cool things and being attractive people threatened my life."
In her new essay, Timpf detailed some of the responses she's seen on Twitter and YouTube. One commenter wrote, "Maybe a SW nerd needs to sneak into her dark room, dressed like her bf, rape her, but she doesn't know it's rape because she thinks it's her BF," while another added, "I want to cut that blond c--t's face off and stick it to a thermal detonator. What a network full of c--ts."

Timpf went on to note that her appearance on the satirical show, which airs at 3 a.m., was taken far too seriously.
"Even if my intent wasnt obvious from that, the fact that Red Eye is a satirical talk show should have been a crucial clue," she wrote. "I was clearly playing a character, and anyone who would have bothered to google the show before saying I should be raped would have realized that."
Despite the death threats, Timpf jokingly tweeted on Wednesday, "No I'm not dead but my favorite midi ring did fall off my finger so it's not fair to say that ALL is well."
